Did you ever have one of those weeks were every time you turn around there is a major event occurring?! Well, a few weeks ago was my week. On a Monday in mid-February, my sweet dog Boston passed away. Boston was our sweet, gentle and quiet brown Labrador. We got him when he was just 7 weeks old and had him for almost 18 yrs. well past the age most labs live I was told by the vet. Boston Baked Beans was his full name and we often called him simply 'Beanie'. If I had to give a one word description of Boston is would have to be 'unassuming'. Boston was a humble, mild dog who never demanded attention but stood quietly by and waited for you to notice him. He was never pushy, always patient and never complained if you forgot to love on him. He was simply always 'there' waiting for your love. My now adult children grew up with him, Brittany the youngest was only 7 when he came to live with us. At 25 she has a hard time remembering life without Beanie. And the kids needed him--their lives had become upset with divorce, moving to a new place with no friends and a new school. So Boston quietly helped them transition into a new life. He was good at that.
Over the last yr we had to confine him to the kitchen due to his lack of controlling his bladder and bowel movements. He even accepted his confinement with grace, although he would 'escape' if we left the baby gate down! But mostly he just enjoyed the cool tile on warm summer days and a nice place to cuddle in the winter cold. And occasionally he would sunbathe in the backyard and quietly watch our other 2-dogs chase the squirrels!
It has been several weeks since he passed and yet I still find myself looking for him in the kitchen and for a brief few seconds, thinking he is simply outside and not gone forever. It will take a long time before I stop looking for that sweet face. After all, 18 yrs is a long time to have just a wonderful companion.
"Good-bye, sweet Beanie, you were an important part of our lives and we will never forget you--rest well dear friend, you've earned it."

A Little bit of This and A Little bit of That!!
So, what's on the menu for life this week?---poison ivy!! That's right, yours truly has a bad, bad case of poison ivy and I'm really not very happy about it! For those of you who've never had this life-altering rash, let me tell you, it's not much fun!!!! You break out in large watery blisters every place on your body you had the misfortune to touch after having touched the evil poison ivy plant! Then a bright red, large bumpy area covers anywhere and everywhere it wants. And, let me tell you about the itching. Multiple the worst itch you can remember every having by about a gazillon times and that's ALMOST as bad as the itch that poison ivy causes---and I'm not joking!! Couldn't stand it anymore today so I went to the 'not-so-urgent' urgent care facility and after waiting more than 1 1/2 hours, I got a shot, super strength anti-itch creme and pills to take to kill this demon rash from hell!! Can you tell I now have a vendetta again this deceitful flora!?!?
Well, enough of that. I've been working on my space at the antique mall and it's really starting to look good. My sells have increased and I'm getting more exposure since I moved to a corner booth on a major aisle. It's a lot of work but, of course, this is what I love to do!! I feel very blessed to be able to be a 'resale diva' as well as my full-time job. Some day I hope to be able to retire and go 'pickin' to my hearts content!!
This spring will be very busy for us with my monthly Winnie show/shop, the antique mall booth and a new show called Lake Houston Trade Days located right here in Humble. Hoping it will turn out to be a really good show--3-months in the spring and 3-months in the fall. Take a little peek at their website when you can---www.lakehoustontradedays.com
Enough for now, following are a few pics of my antique booth--let me know what you think and remember

How Time Flies!!
Wow, it's been soooo long since I last posted and so much has occurred in my life! Firstly, I must apologize for not posting sooner, but I think you will understand once I 'fill in the blanks'.
The holidays started well, but my mom became sick again and ended up in the hospital. Seems she had some internal bleeding in her stomach that had to be cauterized, but she is ok now. She has gone through so much in the last few years but she is a very strong person and I thank God for her everyday. Please pray for my sweet mom "Goldie" that she finds rest and peace and no more illness.
The other major news is that my youngest daughter, who has been living with me again for the last few yrs, decided to move to Dallas/Ft. Worth area. This is not an easy move in this day and time, especially with a 10 mos. old baby! After much thought and prayer, Brittany agreed to leave the baby with my son and me until she is able to get established and settled in her 'new life' in Dallas. Not easy for her to do since Brayden is the 'best baby ever'! My son Jonathan and I welcome the opportunity to love on this little 'pooter-man' but it is quite a life-style change. It's been a long time since I've had the responsibility of raising, even temporarily, a little one. Brayden is a very good baby however and we are very much enjoying him. We've taken him to the park numerous times and even garage selling with us--hey, we have our priority's straight!! Not sure how long we will have him with us, but we are taking advantage of spoiling him as much as we can---sorry, Brittany!!
In other news, I just changed spaces at the antique mall were I sell and boy, am I glad I did!! I was blessed to get a corner booth and I've been selling very well!! It was hard work moving all my 'treasures' into the new space, but well worth it!! Move news on that to come.
My shop in Winnie has been very sluggish the last 3-4 months, not a good sign. However, this coming weekend is the next shop and we are praying people will be out and buying. We really need a good show this month, especially since the last few were not. I will follow-up on this after the show. Please come out to visit if you can!!
Well, I hear my sweet Brayden waking up and must also get ready for my 'real' job, so much go for now.

Holiday season is here!!
Don't you just LOVE this time of year? I know I do--it's when I get to decorate my home with tons and tons of vintage christmas ornaments, wreaths and lots of fa-la-la!!
I'm working on a few christmas projects for a art/craft sale I'll be in on December 6th. It's a really cool sale at a HUGE local company who sets this up every year right before Christmas. It is for their employees only, the general public is not invited, but the booth price is right and there are thousands of employees and most of them like to shop! It's only a 4-hr sale but really lots of fun and well worth taking a day off work to participate in.
I'll be posting some pictures soon of some of the wonderful wreaths I'm making as well as the other items I plan on taking to the show.
This weekend is my Winnie Trade Days show so my son Jonathan and I are busy getting ready for that--looks to be a good weekend--we are hoping to make lots of sales and many, many good friends. Please come out and visit us if you're in the area this weekend. It's the Winnie Trade Days in Winnie, Tx so all you have to do is google it--I'm in the antique mall section so come and look me up!!
That't it for now but there will be lots more coming soon!!

Beautiful, busy weekend!
Wow, this past weekend was FULL of activity and wonderful weather!! Sooooo much to do and so little time to do it but with my son Jonathan's help, we got it done! AND we managed to enjoy the lovely weekend as well. Here is my weekend in bullet points:
* Friday night-collaspe cause I haven't been feeling very well--allergies, cold/sinus,
* Get up early Sat. morning, price the many items I had for the antique mall, clean house (well, at least try!)
* Take items to antique mall as well as newly painted shelf units,
* Work on booth at antique mall until 1:30pm, visit with fellow vendors,
* Go start to HAAM to volunteer (this is a resale ministry where I volunteer on Sat. when I can)
* Go home at 7pm and watch church on computer then collaspe (still feeling pookie)
* Get up EARLY Sun. morning, load items for shop in Winnie/go to Winnie with Jonathan,
* Work on shop at Winnie with Jonathan until 1:30pm
* Go home to play with my grandson Brayden (he and his mom, my daughter Brittany, had gone to Dallas for the weekend to visit my oldest daughter, Jennifer)
* Run to buy groceries with Jonathan before Brittany has to go to work at 6pm,
* Come home, put up groceries and dress Brayden for the pumpkin patch,
* Go to the local pumpkin patch and take pictures of Mr. Brayden--he is so cute!!
* Go back home, fix dinner, put Brayden to bed and COLLAPSED!!
THAT was my weekend and now back to the real world and my job--whew, do you feel sorry for me yet?!?
I am so grateful for my children/grandchildren for all the help they give me in my often very hectic life. Jonathan is my strong arm, my traveling buddy and my companion!! You are the coolest, dude!!
Well, hope you aren't totally exhausted just reading this crazy schedule--please say a prayer for me as I am still a bit under the weather and not feeling quite so 'fresh' right now.
Love you all and will be posting some of the christmas projects I'm currently working on soon. God bless all and any who read this,

Really Cookin' Now!!
Ok, two days in a roll---I'm really cookin' now!! I can't believe I actually remembered to post something, anything, today to get into the habit of blogging again!! Yeah me!!!!!!
Isn't it funny sometimes how a mere 24hrs can make such a difference in one's life? I find myself tired and listless today, just wanting to go home and do NOTHING! My sweet grandson Brayden couldn't sleep last night--he has allergies/cold/runny nose and his mom had gone out with friends, soooooo----I was the designated babysitter. Poor little thing kept waking-up with coughing, runny nose, etc. I just held him and comforted him as much as I could. He tried so hard to go back to sleep but he was just so restless. I finally got him up and gave him baby Tylenol. He cuddled for a few minutes then went absolutely CRAZY with laughter, giggles and joy!! He was a totally different baby--just so cute and sweet, laughter at anything I did.
Well, his mom came home and took over at that point and I went to bed, tired but happy my sweet grandbaby was better.
So, you might wonder why the above would make me so listless? Because my daughter had informed me earlier this week that she and Brayden were going to move to Ft. Worth the beginning of next yr! The thought of not having my Brayden around, seeing him everyday, is just almost unbearable to me!! Ft. Worth is at least 4-5 hours away, just not close enough for me!! Could there be a move in my future?!? We'll see........to be continued

"This is the day......."
"This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it" Ps. 118:24
As some of you probably have noticed, I'm NOT the best blogger! I let things, issues, LIFE interfere and before I know it, days, weeks, MONTHS have passed and no blogging has occurred! Well, this is a new day, a new dawn and it is a day to rejoice and be glad, just like Ps 118:24 declares.
So, this is my goal--to blog AT LEAST 2-3 times each and every week, to share a scripture and a little part of my life and my business with you each time. Please be patient with me while I work on this part of my life!!
My wonder grandson is now almost 8 months old and crawling! AND he is starting to pull up on furniture and stuff!! They grow up sooooooo fast--we must enjoy them each and every minute of the day!
My business is on an even keel right now. I've gone back into the antique mall--sales are slow, but it's starting to pick up. My shop at Winnie is doing very well. To see more on my shop go to my shop blog -remadelifeemporium.blogspot.com - and get a little look at life at the Remade Life Emporium!! And I've recently started selling at a local flea market and boy, is that different! It's really amazing how each market can be so different from the other. It really keeps you on your toes!
Well, that's it for this morning. I hope you will 'hang' with me as I learn about life, art, business and well, everything!!
